About the Jewish Studies Minor

The Jewish Studies minor introduces students to a multi-disciplinary study of Jewish identities, histories, representations, and aesthetics. Our students learn a broad range of methods and critical concepts in order to investigate issues relevant to the modern era of Jewish experience and its relation to other world cultures.

The Jewish Studies minor appeals to students from humanities and social sciences departments and programs, including History, Religious Studies, Comparative Literature, and Sociology. A minor in Jewish Studies prepares students to pursue a variety of humanities-related careers. Students who have minored in Jewish Studies at UCD have gone on to rabbinical and cantorial training, graduate school, law school, and teaching among other careers.
